Review
SturmwindSTORY / GAMEPLAY
The game's actual scenario is quite unknown but it obviously connects to alien invasion that threaten your existence and many epic Sci-Fi air fights. You are a skilled pilot and you control a space battleship that yields a lot of fire power, attacking and shooting down alien hordes and squadrons, until you pass through the alien settings and escape to freedom.
Sturmwind is divided into two different gameplay modes. There is the Normal Mode and the Arcade Mode. In Normal Mode you must shoot your way through four worlds (with 4 levels each). This mode is more challenging since you fight until you are destroyed with no continues or extra credits, so every wrong move is fatal. And then, we have the Arcade Mode which is far easier to master. The screen is seriously occupied by tenths of enemy sprites of all sizes and types, making the game an intense and absolutely stunning warfare! Everything moves like charm, well except of some rare occassions where we have a few frame drops, but overall this experience really has an arcade coin-op feel. Sturmwind is a stunner and one of the best Sega Dreamcast games ever developed, hands down.

GRAPHICS / SOUND
Sturmwind is technically a very impressive, fast, colorful and intense video game. Its visuals are greatly detailed and very well drawn although it run in VGA mode (640 x 480 pixels). The game includes sprites of all sizes and some eye-candy alien environments and settings that move almost flawlessly no matter the simultaneous, animated details. As for the sound, Sturmwind follows the classic "motivate them to shoot" formula combining some strong soundtracks and some loud sound effects.
